Lumpini park, the lung of Bangkok
This is one of my favourite places in Bangkok. Among busy city of Bangkokeans, Suanlum or Lumpini park known as the lung of Bangkok people is the place where Bangkok people come for relaxing and exercising. It is located at the Silom intersection, the heart of Bangkok.
The park was created by the order of King Rama VI in 1925 as the place for entertaining and recreation. It is the first public park of Bangkok. The name of Lumpini is from the name of the place that Lord Buddha was born in Nepal.

Every morning, many people come here for exercising and meeting. There are many different styles of exercising that you can see here but you know, the majority of people here are agers who look after their health.
Many people prefer jogging around the park. You will be surprised when you see an uncle running around without stopping. He is very healthy and strong.
Lumpini park in the morning, you will see many activities run by health clubs or age groups. Tai–Chi is popular exercising in traditional Chinese style. This is preferable way of exercising for agers. It’s good to make their heart strong and be fine from any desease. You can see many groups of people doing Tai-Chi around Suanlum.
Only an hour running around the park cannot only stretch your body but also relieve your mind from stress. Many good sceneries of the park can make you feel relax. For tourists who have a free time or want to find a place for relaxing after a long day trip, Lumpini park won’t make you dissapoint.
