Tom Yum Kung, the wordwide famous Spicy and Sour Shrimp Soup of Thailand
As stream rice was the main dish, it was good to have it with any kind of food. One of my recommended dishes was soup, spicy and sour in Thai style.Obviously, this is “Tom Yum Kung or spicy and sour prawn soup. ” Not only its spicy test, most of Thai food contained ingredients consisting of many kinds herb. Therefore, this could made people healthy.
Cooking Tom Yum Kung was easy but the ingredients might be difficult to find due to it is very local however, you might be able to find them in Asian groceries near your place. Now, I am going to explain how to make it.
Let’s begin with ingredients,
1. Shelled prawns (not too small) 2 lbs.
2. Clear soup 3 cups
3. Lemon grass, cut 1 inch pieces, lightly pounded 1 stalk
4. Kaffir lime leaves, torn 3-4
5. Chalot 5-6
6. Coriander roots 3
7. Small tomatoes 5
8. mushroom (not too small) 5-6
9. Fish sauce 4 tablespoons
10. Lime juice 4 tablespoons
11. Coriander leaves 1 tablespoon
12. Thai Chili Jam, 2 tablespoons
13. Small chilies, lightly pounded 5
First you just boil the clear soup and add the chopped lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and coriander roots and cover the pot until it begins to boil. Then you put tomatoes, mushroom, chalot and fish sauce and leaved it cooked. Some people might put coconut milk or fresh milk. Next you just added prawns and waited until the soup boiled and removed the pot from the heat. Last, you needed to put chili jam and lime juice into a bowl, and stir until it mixed well, then put small chilies. Pour the Tom Yum soup into the bowl and stir smoothly until well blended. You can test and add to get your required test. Fill the top with coriander leaves and serve while hot.
